Talaria Brakes

Talaria Brakes and Moto Brake Kits for X3, MX3, MX4 and MX5

Talaria brake upgrades and replacement brake parts. The Talaria runs mountain bike hydraulics from the factory, and they fade the same way on every model in the line. These kits swap them for moto sized calipers, larger rotors, sintered pads and braided lines that hold their bite through repeat hard stops.

Fitment splits two ways on this platform. The X3 uses their own mounting, and the MX3, MX4 and MX5 share a different setup. Every product below states which it fits.

Why Talaria stock brakes fade

  • Bicycle-grade hydraulics. Stock calipers and lines were designed for a mountain bike, not a bike carrying this much weight at this speed. Heat builds faster than the system sheds it.
  • Small rotor. Less diameter means less leverage and less surface area to dump heat into. The lever goes long on the third or fourth hard stop.
  • Hand brake only. Every Talaria ships without a foot brake. Adding one gives you an independent rear circuit and keeps your right hand on the throttle.

Talaria Moto Brake Kits

Moto Brake Dual Caliper Rear Brake Kit: Two calipers on the rear, braided stainless line, 240mm rotor. Fits Talaria alongside Surron and Eride Pro SS. The most stopping power in the range.

Moto Brake Single Caliper Rear Kit: The same conversion with one caliper. Cheaper, lighter, still a large step over stock.

Front Moto Brake Kit: Front conversion for Talaria, Surron and Eride Pro. Pairs with the rear kits for a matched set.

Big Tonka Big Baller Moto Brake Kit: The largest package we build for this platform.

Talaria Foot Brake Kits

Talaria Foot Brake Kit MX3 / MX4 Hope Tech: Hope Tech caliper, pre bled, bolts to the MX3 and MX4.

Talaria Moto Foot Brake Kit MX3 MX4: The moto caliper version of the same conversion.

Talaria X3 Foot Brake Hope Tech: The X3 mounts differently to the MX line. This is the kit that fits it.

Talaria X3 Moto Foot Brake Kit: Moto caliper foot brake for the X3.

Building from parts, or replacing a bracket? The Talaria Foot Brake Mount Bracket for MX3, MX4 and MX5 and the Talaria X3 Foot Brake Mount Bracket are sold on their own.

Talaria Brake Rotors

Talaria 220mm Brake Rotor Replacement: Direct replacement for X3, MX3 and MX4. The rotor to fit when the stock one is warped or scored.

240mm Moto Brake Rotor: 240mm x 3.3mm, 304 stainless. 20 percent larger in diameter and 80 percent thicker than stock. This is the rotor the moto brake kits are built around.

Talaria Brake Pads

Talaria MX5 Brake Pads: OEM fitment pads for the MX5, shared with the Eride Pro SR and 3.0.

Sintered Performance Brake Pad Set: Copper sintered pads that fit Talaria alongside Surron and Eride Pro. Consistent bite hot or cold, and they hold up where organic pads glaze.

Brackets and bleeding

Moto Brake Single Caliper Bracket: The bracket that carries a moto caliper on a Talaria, Surron or Eride Pro.

Moto Brake Bleed Kit with Check Valve: For topping up or rebleeding after you open the circuit.

Riding something else?

Surron owners want Surron Brakes. Ultra Bee owners want Surron Ultra Bee Brakes, which runs its own rotor and caliper sizes.

FAQ

What is the best brake upgrade for a Talaria?

The dual caliper rear moto brake kit with the 240mm rotor. Two calipers on a rotor 20 percent larger than stock is the biggest single gain available. If you only change one thing, change the rotor and pads.

Do Talaria X3 brakes fit an MX3 or MX4?

Not the foot brake kits or the mount brackets. The X3 mount differently to the MX line, which is why we sell them as separate kits. The moto brake kits, rotors and pads are shared.

Does the Talaria come with a foot brake?

No. Every Talaria ships hand brake only. Our foot brake kits add one, and they ship pre bled.

Will Surron brakes fit a Talaria?

The moto brake kits, the 240mm rotor, the caliper brackets and the sintered pads are shared across Surron, Talaria and Eride Pro. Foot brake mounting is model specific.

Which rotor size does my Talaria use?

The X3, MX3 and MX4 use a 220mm rotor as standard. The 240mm rotor is the upgrade size and comes as part of the moto brake kits.
