Surron Brakes, Moto Brake Kits and Rotor Upgrades
Surron brake upgrades for the Light Bee, Light Bee X and the wider moto brake platform. Surron ships mountain bike hydraulics running mineral oil, and they were never built for a bike that accelerates like this. Under repeat hard stops the fluid boils, the pads glaze and the lever goes long. Everything on this page replaces that system with moto sized calipers, larger stainless rotors, braided lines and copper sintered pads.
All of it is bolt on. Pre bled where it ships as a kit, so you are not bleeding brakes on your garage floor before your first ride.
Why stock Surron brakes fade
- Mineral oil, bicycle spec. Stock Surron brakes run mineral oil in a bicycle-grade circuit. It boils under sustained heat, and boiled fluid is compressible, which is what a long lever actually feels like.
- Undersized rotor. Less diameter is less leverage, and less mass is less heat capacity. A larger rotor fixes both at once.
- Organic pads. They glaze under heat and stop biting. Copper sintered pads recover between stops instead of getting worse.
- No foot brake. Surron ships hand brake only. A foot brake adds an independent rear circuit and frees your right hand.
Surron Rear Brake Kits
Surron Moto Brake Dual Caliper Rear Brake Kit: Two calipers, braided stainless line, 240mm rotor, pre bled. The largest rear setup we build for the Light Bee, and it fits Talaria and Eride Pro SS as well.
Surron Moto Brake Single Caliper Rear Kit: Same conversion, one caliper. Lighter and cheaper, still a large step over stock.

Surron Brake Rotors
240mm Moto Brake Rotor: 240mm x 3.3mm in 304 stainless. 20 percent larger in diameter and 80 percent thicker than stock. This is the rotor the moto brake kits are built around.
220mm Brake Rotor Upgrade: The smaller upgrade rotor, for riders keeping the stock caliper.
Surron Brake Pads
Surron Brake Pads Sintered Performance Set: 100 percent copper sintered. Consistent bite hot or cold, and they hold up where organic pads glaze. Fits Surron, Talaria and Eride Pro.

What is the best Surron brake upgrade?
The pre bled dual caliper moto brake kit. Two calipers on a 240mm rotor turns a bicycle brake into a moto brake, and it ships bled and ready to bolt on. If you are only changing one thing, change the rotor and pads together.
What is the difference between a moto brake and a foot brake kit?
A moto brake kit replaces the hand operated brake with moto sized parts. A foot brake kit adds a second, independent rear brake worked by your foot. Plenty of riders run both.
Do I need to bleed these before fitting?
Not on the pre bled kits. Bleed if you open the circuit, shorten a line, or top it up later.
Will these fit my Talaria or Eride Pro?
The moto brake kits, the 240mm rotor, the caliper brackets and the sintered pads are shared across Surron, Talaria and Eride Pro. Foot brake mounting is model specific, so check the product page for your bike.
Can I run a front and rear moto brake together?
Yes, and most riders end up doing it. Upgrading only the rear moves the weak point to the front.
