Why Eride Pro riders upgrade their brake pads

The Eride Pro SR and 3.0 are not mellow commuter ebikes. They are serious off road machines with real power and weight, which means they need moto grade stopping power. Stock pads are a long life semi metallic mix that feel okay on easy rides but fade on long descents, hot switchbacks, or when you are deep in wheelie practice. These copper sintered pads are built for the heat and torque that electric dirt bikes throw at brakes.

Built for the Eride Pro SR and 3.0 brake system

Both SR and 3.0 run 220 millimeter by 3 millimeter rotors with DOT system calipers, so we sized the friction surface to blanket the rotor sweep and added beveled leading edges to seat quickly during bed in. Backing plates are laser cut and heat treated for stability under load. The result is repeatable bite and confidence every pull.

Real world rider gains

  • Up to 20 percent shorter stops from 40 mph compared with typical OEM semi metallic pads

  • Lighter lever feel in wet mud

  • Confident performance on long downhills with no noticeable fade when bedded correctly

Your results will vary with rotor size, tire grip, weight, terrain, and lever setup.

Quick install in about 5 minutes

  1. Put the bike on a stand and remove the caliper with an M5 Allen.

  2. Pull the spring clip, slide the old pads out, install the new sintered pads.

  3. Reinsert pin and clip, then torque caliper bolts to 25 Nm evenly.

  4. Pump the lever twice, then bed in with repeated 20 to 5 mph slows.

  5. Roll at least 30 seconds between slows to cool. Avoid a dead stop until pads are seated.

No brake bleed needed for a pad swap. Tools are minimal.

The science behind copper sintered friction

Copper sintered material bonds powdered copper, tin, graphite, and friction modifiers at high temperature and pressure. The metallic matrix wicks heat from the pad face, resists glazing, and lays down microscopic copper on the rotor for instant bite, even when wet. That is why you see sintered compounds across moto and heavy duty EV braking.

Complete specs

  • Fitment: Eride Pro SR and Eride Pro 3.0 front or rear caliper

  • Rotor compatibility: 220 millimeter diameter by 3 millimeter thickness stock. Works with your big rotor setups when spaced correctly.

  • Pad thickness new: 4.6 millimeter total

  • Minimum thickness: 2.0 millimeter total

  • Fluid compatibility: DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 systems. Use a single fluid type and do not mix different DOT formulations.

  • Operating temp: −40 F to 1000 F

  • Package: Two pads which service one caliper

Tip: Order two sets to refresh both ends.

FAQs riders ask

Do I need two sets for front and rear
Yes. One set services one caliper. Grab two for a full bike refresh.

Will these work with my big rotor kit
Yes when your caliper and adapter are set up for the rotor size. Riders commonly step to a 240 millimeter by 3.3 millimeter moto rotor with an adapter on Eride Pro platforms for more thermal headroom.

What torque spec should I use on the caliper bolts
Torque to 25 Nm evenly across the two mounting bolts.

How long will copper sintered pads last
Street and light trail riders often see long life. Check pad thickness before each ride and replace when friction material is down to about 1 millimeter.

What fluid should I run
These bikes ship with DOT 4 systems. DOT 5.1 is also used by many riders for higher wet boiling points. Never mix silicone DOT 5 with glycol based fluids.
