Upgraded Hope Tech 4 V4 sintered brake pads that bite harder and resist brake fade. This install guide walks you through a simple pad change for Hope Tech V4 calipers in about 3 minutes. No specialized tools or bleeding required for a pad replacement only. Follow the quick steps below to reset the pistons fit the new pads, spring and pin and bed the pads so your rear brake feels confident the first time you pull up!

Full step by step transcript and notes
Loosen the two caliper bolts so the caliper can move slightly.
Remove the pad pin or pad bolt and slide out the old pads and spring.
Use a flathead to press the pistons fully back into the caliper.
Slide in the new pads with the new spring and reinstall the pad pin.
Center the caliper on the rotor and tighten the two bolts evenly to manufacturer torque.
Pump the lever to seat the pads against the rotor.
Bed the pads in SLOWLY with 20 to 30 controlled stops from low speed (10mph) to moderate speed (20-30mph) BE SURE TO COOL OFF THE ROTOR & PADS FOR 30 SECONDS BETWEEN STOPS, AND DO NOT MAKE A FULL HARD STOP. FULL STOPS CAN CAUSE PAD MATERIAL TO STICK TO THE ROTOR AND YOU WONT GET AN EVEN BED.
Torque Notes: Tighten caliper bolts and pad pin to manufacturer spec.
Safety: Keep pad faces and rotor clean. Do not touch friction surfaces. Test brakes at low speed before riding hard.

Does this fit Hope Tech 4 V4 and Tech 3 V4 calipers Yes. It fits both V4 calipers. It is not for Hope E4.

Do I need to bleed the system No. A pad change does not require a bleed unless the lever feels soft or the hydraulic system was opened.
